Scott Eastwood was so determined to avoid nepotism that he used his mother's maiden name while in school. Then, in his attempt to buy his first car, he reached out to his father, Clint, for aid, but the legendary actor would not help.
Clint Eastwood is a legend when it comes to the American movie industry. He has acted in multiple iconic movies like "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" and directed more successful films.
Behind the scenes, the actor is a father to seven children from five different mothers. The legendary actor favors the old-school parenting style when raising his kids.

The father of seven has a motto tagged the "Code of Eastwood," he ensured his kids go by and once questioned his daughters when they came home with tattoos.
His son, Scott Eastwood, is following in his father's footsteps. The young actor has become a star and has spoken of his father's impact on his childhood and career.

SCOTT'S UPBRINGING
While growing up, Scott did not see a lot of his father, Clint, who was always away working on movies. The young man was also born out of wedlock, so it wasn't easy.
He spent the majority of his time with his mother, Jacelyn, in Hawaii until he got her angry and moved in with his father in California during high school.
As a teen dealing with his father's laws was pretty scary, but Clint revealed Scott was a good kid because his mother had taught him a lot of values. She was also a bit more understanding.
Clint's father died without the two having spent a lot of time together, and the older actor revealed he used to dream about his father and regretted not asking him to hang out more so they could bond.
This is also reflected in his relationship with Scott, and the legendary actor explained it was pretty hard not being able to see his child while he was filming.
The earliest memories of Scott spending time with Clint were playing around on the set of the movie "Space Cowboys." The father and son would also take long helicopter rides, and sometimes Clint will hand his young son one handle of the dual controls.

As a child, Scott saw his father as his hero and would use every opportunity he got to ask Clint for a story because he always had good ones to tell.
Clint raised Scott based on the "Code of Eastwood:" which means everything must be earned. The young actor revealed his father was strict and very tough with him.
The older actor taught his son an important lesson: to embrace humility and be open to other people's points of view.

Once as a 16-year-old, Scott was assaulted by his dad for taking his then 14-year-old sister to a party and forgetting her there.
The legendary actor indulged in the old-school style by getting physical with his son, unlike the modern way of parenting where parents can not touch their kids. Afterward, he warned Scott never to leave his sister behind at a party.
THE CODE OF EASTWOOD
Clint was majorly absent during Scott's childhood. The young Eastwood was born Scott Reeves and only adopted his father's name much later. At 17, the young actor used his mother's maiden name instead of his father's to avoid favoritism.

In his determination to put himself through school at Santa Barbara City College, he cleared tables at restaurants and rode pushbikes in-between work and class.
Scott later reached out to his dad to borrow the sum of $8000 to buy a truck with the promise to pay back with his work earnings. Clint, however, did not give his son a dime. Scott explained:
"My dad never gave me a cent, and He made me work for everything. Man, he was hard on me, but it hardened me and gave me drive."
This aligns with his father's "Code of Eastwood" motto: everything must be earned. This form of discipline ensured Scott worked hard for everything he had. The young actor is also grateful to his father for instilling in him this hardworking mentality.
SCOTT'S MOTHER
Scott's mother, Jacelyn Reeves, worked as a flight attendant when she met Clint, 21 years her senior. The actor was also married to Actress Sandra Locke at the time.

The pair had an affair that lasted for years and resulted in Jacelyn giving birth to Scott in 1986 and his sister Kathryn in 1988.
Even though Clint played a part in raising Scott, the young actor has lauded his mother for playing a massive role in making him a better man.
FATHER'S INFLUENCE ON MOVIE CAREER
Scott's first foray into the movie industry was met by uncertainty from movie producers. He was not taken seriously. According to Scott, he was told that:
"You're Clint Eastwood's son; you're not a real f**king actor."

Years into his movie career, the actor explained some people still don't take him seriously, but he has lasted in Hollywood more than he thought he would.
The actor also credited his father for being hard on him and teaching him how to lift weights and be consistent with exercises when he was 14.

The older actor taught his son an important lesson: to embrace humility and be open to other people's points of view. According to Clint, it is a necessary skill to have in the fickle Hollywood industry.
All this has impacted Scott and made him appreciate his work and understand that he could just as quickly vanish from the public eye, never to be heard of again. It made him aware that:
"You're a passenger in a vehicle, and you're replaceable. Interchangeable. There's a million guys who could fucking do what I do, and probably millions who could do it better than me."
Clint also made sure Scott did not get preferential treatment and would make him audition to be in the movies he was directing. Growing up Clint Eastwood's son came with many lessons, which Scott is grateful for today.
